Electronics Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to become the focal point for all electrical and electronic aspects of the business. This role offers the opportunity to support a range of projects, from sustaining existing products to developing new ones, particularly for geothermal applications. As a pivotal member of our multi-disciplined engineering team, you will lead and mentor others while deepening your expertise in high-performance electronics for harsh environments.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop electrical and electronic designs for new products, including design and development of test fixtures.
- Conduct testing of new designs and liaise with manufacturing and supply chain on new designs.
- Sustain existing electrical and electronic assemblies, including troubleshooting, testing, and redesigning where necessary.
- Manage obsolescence and research new technologies to stay current with developments in electrical and electronic engineering.
- Communicate effectively with management, engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Engage in occasional international travel to collaborate with international teams and partners.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree in a relevant field.
- At least 10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in schematic design and PCB layout.
- Strong experience with both analogue and digital electronics.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working with an international team.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Design experience for harsh environments – high temperature, high shock, and vibration.
- Experience with analogue and digital sensors, including signal conditioning.
- Familiarity with Switch-mode power supplies (SMPS).
- Knowledge of AC generators, rectification, BLDC motors, and drives.
- Understanding of control systems and signal processing.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic and PCB design.
- Experience with circuit simulation.
