We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to become the focal point for all electrical and electronic aspects of the business. This role offers the opportunity to support a range of projects, from sustaining existing products to developing new ones, particularly for geothermal applications. As a pivotal member of our multi-disciplined engineering team, you will lead and mentor others while deepening your expertise in high-performance electronics for harsh environments.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop electrical and electronic designs for new products, including design and development of test fixtures.
  • Conduct testing of new designs and liaise with manufacturing and supply chain on new designs.
  • Sustain existing electrical and electronic assemblies, including troubleshooting, testing, and redesigning where necessary.
  • Manage obsolescence and research new technologies to stay current with developments in electrical and electronic engineering.
  • Communicate effectively with management, engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.
  • Engage in occasional international travel to collaborate with international teams and partners.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in schematic design and PCB layout.
  • Strong experience with both analogue and digital electronics.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working with an international team.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Design experience for harsh environments – high temperature, high shock, and vibration.
  • Experience with analogue and digital sensors, including signal conditioning.
  • Familiarity with Switch-mode power supplies (SMPS).
  • Knowledge of AC generators, rectification, BLDC motors, and drives.
  • Understanding of control systems and signal processing.
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic and PCB design.
  • Experience with circuit simulation.
