Bookkeeper

An establised regional construction organisation, based in Darwen, are looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to join their growing team due to organic growth and continued success of the business.

Key Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper role will include:

Accounting and Financial Management:

  • Reconciliation of Accounts: Regularly reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy.
  • Accounting Software Proficiency: Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) to manage financial data and generate reports.
  • Financial Tracking and Purchase Ordering: Monitor financial transactions, track expenditures, and manage purchase orders efficiently.
  • Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial forecasts to aid in budget planning and financial decision-making.
  • Profit and Loss Management: Prepare and review profit and loss statements, identifying discrepancies and opportunities for cost savings.
  • VAT Management: Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission of VAT returns in compliance with tax regulations.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payment to employees.
  • CIS Compliance: Manage Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Adhoc general administration tasks to support wider office

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments to suppliers.
  • Accounts Receivable: Manage invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliations.
