Senior Project Manager who has experience in PLC system integration with the ability to understand and produce control system design documents and lead a team of Engineers is required to join us at Eltek Systems, one of the leading independent providers of industrial process and automation solutions.

SALARY: From £60,000 per annum (experience dependent) + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid Working from Home and the Office in Oundle, Northamptonshire, East Midlands, with some travel throughout the UK (Candidates must live within a commutable distance to Oundle)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Project Manager who has experience in PLC system integration with the ability to understand and produce control system design documents and lead a team of Engineers.

Working as the Senior Project Manager you will work directly with our clients within the food and beverage industry and their internal design and management teams, using your knowledge of PLC-based control system architecture, PLC, HMI and SCADA coding, machine safety and integrated system safety to help lead a project through all stages of development - from initial project negotiation to final testing.

At every stage, you will nurture and continue to develop our relationship with the client, bringing your strong strategic and tactical skills to the fore. We need a Senior Project Manager like you to help us continue to provide our customers with the level and quality of service we are noted for and work hard to maintain.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Senior Project Manager include:

  • Prepare, review, and present detailed technical proposals and quotations for bespoke control systems, including tendering activity with cost estimation, and negotiate when pricing work, rework or variations
  • Liaise directly with customers (throughout all stages of a project/programme), including the customer's internal design and management teams
  • Provide technical supervision of system design, build and installation personnel
  • Review the design and testing of control systems to ensure they are in accordance with agreed specifications, applicable standards and legislative requirements
  • Ensure all relevant Health & Safety procedures are adhered to
  • Prepare and present project reviews and evaluations (earned value analysis) to Eltek/Actemium management
  • Take the lead in ensuring your team continues to develop their skills in line with business goals
  • Work alongside other Project Mangers to develop existing client relationships and identify future requirements on site(s)
  • Personally visit customer site(s) as and when required

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified to HNC/HND/degree level in a relevant discipline

  • In-depth experience in system integration, OR substantial experience in systems integration

  • High level of ability to understand and produce control system design documents

  • Strong understanding of technical project life cycle

  • Good to high level of software knowledge of and experience with:

  • system for in-process and manufacturing environments

  • PLC-based control system architecture

  • PLC, HMI and SCADA coding

  • integrated system testing of application software and the industrial hardware

  • machinery safety design and associated standards

  • on-site commissioning of industrial control systems

  • You have a working knowledge of:

  • industrial hardware systems

  • control panel design and assembly

  • site installation design

  • control system hardware LV distribution/MCC/PLC/safety/instrumentation

  • hardware design documents (circuit schematics, I/O schedules, motor schedules)

  • You have strong:

  • contract management and negotiation skills

  • technical solution approach to sales

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing combined with strong presentation skills of technical and commercial content

  • Successful team leadership and management experience

  • Commercial awareness/acumen

  • Dynamic and proactive team player who strives to deliver high-quality work at the highest level of customer service

  • You can demonstrate your understanding of the full project life cycle

  • Excellent time-management skills

  • Experience working with clients in the Food & Beverage industry is desired, but not essential if you can show related experience

  • Ability to develop and maintain key relationships with customers and internal personnel
