Length - 6+ month ongoing contract
Your Role
- To support the provision and co-ordination of transport evidence to inform the development of transport policies and strategies within the region.
- To manage the delivery of specific policy projects that deliver the West of England's Combined Authority functions as a Transport Authority and Integrated Transport Authority, including supporting the management of consultants to deliver an update to the Joint Local Transport Plan and associated transport related strategies for the West of England region.
- To manage the development and implementation of highway, rail, bus, cycling and walking projects associated with the region's transport strategy, and support the preparation of business cases for projects, working collaboratively with others to secure the necessary approvals.
- To manage effective relationships with the Unitary Authorities through, for example, chairing working groups in the various transport areas covered in the transport strategy and policy team.
- To provide the delivery of transport input into the development of the spatial planning approach for the region and other supporting region-wide plans, strategies, and documents such as Supplementary Planning Documents, Development Briefs and Design Guidance.
- To manage relationships with a range of stakeholders in the development of strategies for specific areas of transport modes affecting the West of England region, such as the appraisal of bus operating frameworks, assessment of Clean Air Zones and carbon emissions, and operation of the Key Route Network.
Essentials;
- A chartered membership of a relevant professional body (TPP, CIHT, CILT for example.).
- Skilled with GIS
