Job Title: Head of Finance (6-Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Sutton Coldfield (3/4 days per week)
Salary: £80,000 +package
Contract Type: 6-Month Fixed Term (Potential to go Temp to Perm)

Role Overview:
Gleeson Recruitment Group are working with a leading retail business based in Sutton Coldfield who are looking for a head of finance initially on a 6 month contract that has the potential to covert to a permanent job. My client is a leading retail business who are looking for a key focus on stock, finance systems improvement and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize the company's cash flow, ensuring efficient cash management and accurate reporting to senior leadership.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to the operations teams, providing financial insights and supporting decision-making to improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the production and presentation of P&L reports, management reports, and variance analysis to provide actionable insights for business performance.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of finance systems, identifying areas for automation and process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to improve stock flow management, ensuring alignment between financial and operational processes.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate financial planning across the business.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in cash flow management, reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong business partnering skills, with a track record of working closely with operations teams to drive performance improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
  • Expertise in managing P&L, banking operations, and delivering timely management reports.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear financial insights and recommendations.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
