We are seeking an HR Officer to provide comprehensive support to our client's HR Director. This role is integral in liaising with Departmental Heads, Managers, and Employees, ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions including payroll and recruitment.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Assist with the daily operations of HR functions and duties, including payroll processing and recruitment.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the HR department.
  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding process, from drafting job adverts and descriptions to interviewing candidates.
  • Prepare and maintain employee personnel files, ensuring all documentation is received promptly and kept up-to-date.
  • Advise on disciplinary, capability, grievance, performance management, and absence management issues, ensuring consistency in processes and outcomes.
  • Liaise with Line Managers to ensure the fair application of company policies and procedures.
  • Plan and deliver training, including inductions for new employees.
  • Advise Line Managers on probationary periods and take necessary actions regarding employment status.
  • Assist the HR Director in developing new HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Manage maternity/paternity regulations and provide advice as the first point of contact.
  • Handle short-term and long-term sickness management, including payroll deductions and monthly reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll data and undertake specific training as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HR and employment law.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage own workload and work as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with payroll management is beneficial.
  • CIPD qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and understanding of CRM systems.
