LIMS Administrator

Working for one on Manchesters most prestigious organisations? This role will be is an LIMS Administrator on a fixed terms contract until March 2027, with a competitive salary from GBP35000 - GBP45000.
We are looking for a LIMS expert to join the team to manage the systems administrator and regulatory compliance.

What will you be doing as an LIMS Administrator?

  • You will be responsible for maintaining and managing our LabWare Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Ensure the functions run smoothly and continues to satisfy both regulators and sponsors quality standards
  • Responsible for the day to day management and configuration of LIMS, including planning and facilitating system upgrades where necessary
  • You will proactively recommend and implement process enhancements to optimise system usage, performance and laboratory workflows
  • You will provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing problems related to LIMS, delivering training to staff in LIMS processes and providing 1:1 support for users
  • You will be expected to keep abreast of current developments in LIMS software, regulatory requirements and related fields in order to implement new approaches as and when necessary
  • Responsible for planning your own work to achieve and deliver objectives, set and maintain overall regulatory standards for the role
  • Maintain and develop the LabWare LIMS within NBC to meet the requirements of users and sponsors.
  • Set up new user accounts, and provide specialist training, advice and guidance to colleagues on the use of the system.
  • Maintain SOPs and other documents relevant to LIMS.
  • Oversee the interfacing of new equipment with LIMS and the development of additional LIMS functionality, including the introduction of updates where required.
  • Perform troubleshooting and system configuration while ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Provide first and second-line support for the LabWare LIMS application, addressing user queries and resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to LabWare LIMS configurations, interfaces and integrations.
  • Perform system configuration, updates and maintenance to ensure the LIMS operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Proactively recommend and implement process enhancements to optimise system usage, performance and laboratory workflows.
  • Ensure that the LIMS is compliant with relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

What skills do you require to be a LIMS Administrator?

  • You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) or have equivalent relevant work experience
  • Degree educated in Biological Sciences or relevant discipline
  • Previous experience of working with LIMS
  • Experience of SQL for accessing, querying and managing databases
  • Natural Problem solver
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work flexibility
