Our client, a special purpose machinery manufacturer, seek to appoint a CNC Programmer to work in their machine shop. As CNC Programmer you will programme, set and operate up to three 5-axis CNC machines at once with little supervision. You will be working for an established market leader with a full order book and excellent prospects for advancement and a great working atmosphere. This role will progress to a Team Leader role in time. Working conditions and pay is excellent. this is a Monday to Friday days' based role.
CNC Programmer - Roles and Responsibilities - Setter / Operator / 5-axis / Machine Shop / Machining / Milling / Turning / Programming
- Set up to three CNC machines with little or no assistance to produce the required part as per drawing
- Working from a drawing programme the CNC machine
- This role involves multi axis machining (3 5 axis) and requires you to monitor tooling and replace or repair as appropriate when worn out
- Take accurate measurements of work pieces and ensure that the quality is good
- Carry out maintenance measures to ensure good condition of machines
CNC Programmer - Skills and Abilities - Setter / Operator / 5-axis / Machine Shop / Machining / Milling / Turning / Programming
- Must have an engineering qualification in CNC machining with Milling and Turning and be experienced in 5 axis machining
- Experience with Heidenhain and Fanuc controls preferred
- Good knowledge of reading drawings and using micrometers
- Good knowledge of program editing and G-codes
