Assistant Finance Manager

My client, a global consultancy firm based in Charing Cross, is seeking to hire an Assistant Finance Manager to join their busy and growing team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an ACCA / CIMA / ACA finalist or a QBE candidate.

This is a permanent and full-time role, with a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience and stage of qualification.

This is a new role within the company, sitting on the Financial and Management Accounting and Audit team.

This is a brand new opportunity to join a thriving consultancy business, reporting to the Finance Manager but with exposure to the wider management team and the commercial & tax teams. This is a key role in supporting and driving business growth through insightful financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

Management Reporting:

  • Complete end-to-end management accounts processing for month end & year end, including:

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Overseeing the accounts payable team

  • Expenses & supplier management

  • Track actual vs forecast performance summarising the key reasons for variances.

  • Overview of payroll function

  • Liaising with HR team

  • Payroll journals posting

  • Approving payments

Cashflow Management:

  • Debt monitoring, management, and compliance.
  • Provide group level reporting of issues that require escalation.

Operational Excellence:

  • Identify operational improvement areas creating the ability for the business to scale
  • Develop controls and improve quality control of project data accuracy and completeness within the system
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to facilitate co-ordinations & communication with the Accounts Payable function
  • Set-up and implement processes to allow for a flexible, cross-regional team through cross-skilling and training, to eliminate single points of failure and enhance performance.
  • Aid implementation of Creditsafe for AP team

Audit & Tax:

  • Coordinating the audit process by consolidating local audits & facilitating the audit process
  • VAT reporting process & improve data input process
  • Assist with the group tax function including corporation tax, payroll related filings, transfer pricing, ad hoc tax reports

Requirements:

  • ACCA / CIMA / ACA finalist or QBE
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong experience and understanding of audit either as an auditor or addressing auditors requirements
  • Proactive and driven individual
  • Experience working in professional services within a fast-paced environment - recommended but not essential
