Security Support Assistant

The Security Support Assistant (SSA), reporting to the Deputy Head of IT and Security, support with all aspects of IT and security across Reed Assessment, comprising physical, operational and information security. The SSA role operates on a 6-day shift rota (shifts are on rota 8am - 9.30pm Mondays to Saturdays) and is responsible for supporting the delivery of security support and guidance to Reed Assessment's Test Centre Network (TCN) across the UK, including Northern Ireland on all Reed Assessment contracts

The key element of the SSA role is the high quality & compliant redaction of CCTV footage, in order to meet data protection requirements. The SSA will join a team of 12 SIM Team members and become one of the team CCTV SMEs, providing support to Security Incident Management Executives (SIMEs) within the SIM Team. Support will include the processing of CCTV information, processing of CCTV stills and clips and redaction of stills, clips where required. SSAs will also be required to complete CCTV Statements and assist in CCTV system management and administration. SSAs also need to be competent in Microsoft Office.

The SSA will strictly adhere to the guidelines in accordance with the programme's requirements and Reed in Partnership's policies and procedures. This is not an exhaustive list and the Administrator will be expected to carry out any other duties as may be specified by the line manager from time to time.

The specific duties include:

  • Post-incident CCTV redaction to support Reed Assessment post-incident investigations
  • Monitoring of security activity during Reed Assessment redaction, highlighting any additional risks, incidents or obvious compliance issues
  • Escalation of any exceptional security activity to management detected whilst processing security/fraud packs including mobile phone usage, obvious collusion or severe non-compliance
  • Any additional activity detected during redaction must be communicated to the Case Manager (SIME) and Line Manager (Deputy Head of IT & Sy or Head of IT & Sy)
  • Assist with the production of Reed Assessment Fraud Evidence Packs and CCTV Statements in line with contract
  • Processing of retrospective CCTV Requests, including the review of footage, provision of CCTV Statements and the maintenance of the CCTV Request tracker
  • Processing of fraud cases using the SIM Team Activity log. SSAs are to fully update the log in real time and liaise with Case Managers as required
  • Ensuring all Raw footage from a fraud incident is correctly captured, downloaded and stored in the relevant fraud pack. Raw footage is not shared with DVSA unless instruction from Line Management
  • Coordination and management of CCTV login accounts for Test Centre operations (creating accounts, changing passwords monthly etc)
  • Support to Reed Assessment TCN Co-members across the Reed Assessment TCN relating to operational use of CCTV and ensuring DPA and ICO compliance when required
  • Operational checks of Reed Assessment TCN CCTV networks to ensure functionality and to confirm reported faults with checks annotated in the CCTV Activity Log
  • Random dip tests of Reed Assessment TCN CCTV NVRs to confirm 60 days recording capacity is confirmed with checks annotated in the CCTV Activity Log
  • Regular liaison with the SIM Team and Management to confirm faults, check functionality and report issues with CCTV. Any issues must be escalated to Line Management
