Our client is seeking an experienced and highly self-motivated Financial Assistant, who has strong analytical skills, and demonstrates excellent attention to detail and accuracy, and who enjoys working with data/figures.

The successfully candidate will be responsible for providing reliable and robust Financial support to the Financial Controller, with a particular emphasis on banking and posting website/ecommerce receipts to the sales ledger in multiple currencies from several sources e.g. credit cards, Paypal, Amazon reseller, as well as BACS receipts from our clients BtoB customers, and reconciliation of all bank accounts on a daily basis.

This is a part time role, 25 hours a week. Hybrid working could be considered for this role however office based would be required during the training period.

Key Features of the role:

  • Posting of Ecommerce/Website cash receipts (GBP, USD, Euro, and CAD) to the Sales ledger from credit cards, Paypal, Amazon reseller, on a daily basis.
  • Reconciliation of all GBP and foreign currency bank accounts
  • Reconciliation of Supplier accounts to their statements
  • Reconciliation of the Company credit cards
  • Posting of Supplier invoices to Purchase ledger
  • Raising payments of supplier invoices through on-line banking and sending out remittance advices.
  • Effective communication at all levels within the business and with external clients and suppliers
  • Credit Control and raising associated chase letters.
  • Assist Financial Controller with general accounting responsibilities and ad-hoc tasks
  • Organise own workload, meeting deadlines and demonstrating good sense of prioritising
  • Enjoy working with large amounts of transactions on a daily basis.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to multi-task

Skills/Experience/Traits Required:

  • Previous bookkeeping experience; preferably within an established SME
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • The ability to remain calm and professional at all times, especially during busy periods
  • A stable career history, with longevity in previous positions
  • Strong attention to detail and a sense of pride in maintaining high standards
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and confident working with computers, particularly MS Excel (Intermediate Level)
  • AAT Level 2/3 qualification and the desire to become AAT qualified would be highly desirable
