Job Title: Joiner / Fitter

This is a truly unique opportunity to join a distinguished organisation, with a rich history in furniture, spanning over two centuries and with global recognition for being at the highest level of furniture and cabinet making. Over the centuries, they have created some breath taking spaces in some of the most prestigious and iconic buildings.

They produce high end, bespoke furniture and paneling, supported by very high end premium joinery installation services, working with some of the finest furniture, for some of the highest end residential properties in London.

Key Features of the Role:

You will be responsible for;

  • Work with Management on construction projects, ensuring all required works meet assigned deadlines
  • Follow and adapt development/project plans (when required) adjusting cutting tools and accessories on dedicated machines and make on-site adjustments where necessary
  • Installing and equipping furnishings of the very highest end, bespoke traditional oak paneling, high end furniture and oak doors
  • Measure building materials and spaces for installation accurately
  • Participate in second fixing work, combining carpentry work with joining work
  • Incorporate fixtures like door handles and locks, cabinet handles, stairway railing, and other fixtures into design and implementation.
  • Ensuring on-site joinery to the highest standards and delivering world class craftsmanship
  • Use power tools and other tools to cut and shape wood, metal, and other materials
  • You will strive to complete each installation to the highest standard, taking pride in your work and the work of the organisation as a whole.
  • The client provide tools on site, but you you will have your own hand tools.
  • Carrying out all work following appropriate health and safety standards and fire safety regulations, ensuring suitable PPE is used at all times (Safety goggles, safety shoes, dust mask, ear plugs)

Essential:

  • At least 5 years of experience in high end, bespoke, fitted furniture installation
  • Ability to work to ZERO tolerances, ensuring a seamless finish
  • Punctual, proactive and organised
  • Excellent attention to detail and takes a high level of pride in their work
  • Natural problem solver, with a solutions focused approach
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and follow set processes
  • Self-motivated and an energetic team player
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Hold a valid CSCS card
  • Carpentry qualification or suitably qualified through experience (essential)
  • Knowledge of HSE & Fire Safety Regulations (essential)
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload and time (essential)
  • CSCS Gold or Blue Card Holders
  • CIS registered (desirable)
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Joinery Woodworking or similar.

Desirable:

  • Woodworking qualification in fine furniture or furniture installations would be beneficial
  • Hold valid SMSTS or SSSTS

It would be great if you had previous experience in the following: Joiner, Joinery, Fitter, Fitting, Carpentry, Carpenter, Lead Joiner, Lead Fitter
