On-Site Support Technician - Prestigious Law Firm

Ryder Reid Legal is looking to recruit a promising On-Site Support Technician to join one of our prestigious, law firm clients on a permanent basis at their London office. The London On-Site Support Technician (OST) serves as the initial point of contact for IT inquiries, providing technical assistance to users via telephone, email, chat, or in person. The role involves supporting computer systems, software, telephony, and network-related issues, as well as assisting with meeting and event technology. While primarily focused on the London office, the OST also provides support across the entire firm.

Essential Functions:

  • User Support: Interface directly with all Firm personnel to provide telephone, remote, and desk-side client technology support for applications, hardware, peripherals, telephony, and network-related issues.
  • Meeting Support: Set up and support internal and external meetings, presentations, and conference calls. Configure and assist with web conferencing platforms (e.g., Webex, Zoom, Teams).
  • Telecommunications: Provide training on phone use, voicemail maintenance, and conference call setup.
  • Document Production: Assist with document conversion, formatting, and content creation (e.g., merged documents, spreadsheets, presentations).
  • Incident Management: Adhere to incident and change management processes. Document troubleshooting steps and escalate incidents as needed.
  • Technical Currency: Stay up-to-date with Level One software and supported hardware systems.
  • Hardware Setup: Image, install, and configure firm machines. Assist with BYOD device setup.
  • Vendor Liaison: Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues by coordinating with vendors.
  • Employee Moves: Set up computer, telephone, and network equipment during employee moves.
  • New Hire Configuration: Ensure correct configuration for new attorneys, business professionals, and contractors.
  • Mobile Device Support: Configure and assist with firm-issued mobile devices and BYOD devices.
  • Self-Development: Undertake specific training as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of IT assets and stock.
  • Project Participation: Contribute to firm-wide projects (e.g., hardware/software rollouts, office moves).
  • Confidentiality: Safeguard firm and client documentation.
