We are currently seeking an experienced Interim Charity Finance Manager to join our client's team in Maidstone, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is immediately available and has a passion for making a difference in the non-profit sector. The successful candidate will oversee the financial health of our organisation, ensuring that we continue to deliver on our mission effectively and efficiently.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Oversee and manage the charity's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the senior management team and trustees.
  • Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
  • Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with external auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process and addressing any audit issues.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure best practice.
  • Support funding applications and financial project management by providing accurate financial data and projections.
  • Lead and manage the finance team, providing training and development as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a financial management role within the charity sector.
  • Strong understanding of charity SORP and charity-specific financial regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
  • High level of integrity and reliability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in managing and developing staff.
