Job role: SEN (Special Education Needs) Support Worker Location: Bournemouth Cohort: Secondary / SEN Start date: September (scope to start Immediately too) Rate: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour

GSL Education are looking for a passionate Support Worker for an SEN secondary school based near Bournemouth. This friendly school is focused on giving young people the opportunity to progress and succeed in sustained education, training or employment.

The Ideal SEN Support Worker:

  • Must be patient and reliable.
  • Be able to work well in a team.
  • Be proactive in meeting student's needs.
  • Having 1:1 experience with children with SEN is desirable, but not essential.
  • Having experience with SEN in a secondary school setting is desirable, but not essential.
  • Should be able to empathise with their pupils and be able to set a good example.

The SEN Support Worker Role:

  • Supporting the teaching and learning of SEN pupils across the school, working with struggling pupils or those who have become stifled by the curriculum.
  • Helping them meet their potential through smaller booster groups and 1:1 sessions.
  • Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
  • Working closely with the SENCO to monitor and advance developments in both academic and social areas.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
