About the Team

We want to improve the experience of Supervised Contact for children and their families by raising our standards of practice. We have therefore redesigned the management and supervisory structure of our Contact Centres.

About the Role

As a Contact Supervisor you will support parents or carers whose contact is supervised and provide safe and child focused sessions. Your role will include providing regular and consistent supervision within the statutory requirements set by the local authority.

You will be part of a committed and supportive team of Contact Supervisors working directly with vulnerable children to ensure that the safety of the child is maintained and the child's welfare promoted. This will include coordinating and undertaking contact sessions and providing detailed reports to be used in court proceedings. Where applicable you may also be requested to attend court hearings pertaining to supervised contact reports.

We want you to feel confident and supported in your role. You will receive regular supervision and access to training with guest speakers to enhance your skill set and development.

Shortlisting Criteria

As a Contact Supervisor you will need to have high-level knowledge of safeguarding and the impact of trauma on children. Successful partnership working with Social Workers, Foster Carers and family members will be key, therefore, you will need to be able to communicate in a clear and concise direction, using positive and encouraging language.

To be considered for shortlisting for this position your CV and personal statement will clearly evidence the following:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written skills (required to complete high quality court reports)
  • A background in children's services and experience of supervising contact
  • High-level safeguarding knowledge
  • You will also need to be willing and able to travel across the county, and sometimes beyond, to meet the needs of our service

The Contact Service operating hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am - 6pm and as such evening meetings which require your attendance may sometimes occur.

The job advert closes at 23:59 on 11/08/2024 with interviews to follow.
