Role overview:
This post is situated in the Housing Asset Planning - Pre-Construction Team, where the team undertakes works from RIBA Stages 0 - 4, prior to the handover to our Housing Capital Delivery Team for the management of works on site.
Post holder duties include:
- Undertaking surveys & assessments on our existing housing assets including acquisitions.
- Planning & scoping of project works ranging from small to more complex / large projects.
- Providing assessments, recommendations & producing reports and programmes.
- Management of consultants appointed to support the scoping & packaging of works, including the tender process ready for the onsite delivery works.
- Management of pre-construction projects / work streams.
- In addition, this post would need to be able to assist with the initial budget cost setting (or liaison - depending on the scale of the works).
Key requirements for this post include:
- Qualified and experienced Senior Building Surveyor - Ideally MRICS / MCIOB - If a candidate is working towards membership or not a member but has a Building Construction HND / Degree together with extensive proven experience of undertaking medium to large scale social housing construction projects, this would be considered.
- Proven experience & skills of undertaking works beyond repair inspection & remedial works, and more in line with medium to large scale housing construction maintenance / refurbishment projects, particularly in alignment with the pre-construction phases of the RIBA Work Plan Stages 0 - 4.
- Experience in using MS 365 suite of applications (Word, etc.), use of other software packages and data bases such as AutoCad, NEC, etc is desirable.
- To drive and have use of their own car to travel to sites.
