Housing Officer

We are looking for a dedicated Housing Officer to provide exceptional housing management services to Council and Private Sector leased properties. This role involves enforcing tenancy conditions, managing neighbourhood and tenancy assistants, and working closely with various stakeholders to maintain the quality of living environments.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Handle enquiries from customers, partner agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Make decisions on tenancy matters and provide advice on a range of tenancy issues.
  • Introduce new tenants to their properties and tenancy conditions.
  • Enforce tenancy conditions and take appropriate action against breaches.
  • Investigate and address anti-social behaviour, using all available powers and remedies.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of tenancy law and related legislation.
  • Conduct mediation between tenants to resolve estate management issues.
  • Perform regular inspections of housing estates and coordinate the removal of rubbish, abandoned vehicles, and graffiti.
  • General administration tasks as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in housing services, knowledge of Housing Law, and a professional qualification in Housing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software packages.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good interviewing skills and customer service abilities.
  • A current, full driving licence.
