Leicestershire Children's Services is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) plays a critical role in assessing and responding to safeguarding concerns, ensuring that children are protected and supported. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Manager to lead our MASH team.

Role Overview

As the Team Manager of the MASH team, you will oversee the daily operations, ensuring that referrals are handled efficiently and effectively. You will provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative approach to safeguarding children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Manage and lead the MASH team, providing supervision, support, and development opportunities for team members.
  • Coordination: Oversee the assessment and triage of referrals, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all assessments and interventions are conducted to the highest standards, in compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with partner agencies, including health, education, and police, to ensure a coordinated and effective safeguarding response.
  • Case Management: Monitor the progress of cases, ensuring that actions are taken promptly and that children's safety is prioritized.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Policy and Procedure: Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of the MASH team.
  • Training: Provide training and development for team members and partner agencies to ensure best practice in safeguarding.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a current registration with Social Work England.

  • Significant experience in children's social care, particularly in safeguarding and child protection.

  • Proven leadership and management experience within a social care setting.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a MASH or similar multi-agency safeguarding environment.

  • Advanced training or qualifications in child protection and safeguarding.
