Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Art and Design Technology (DT) Technician to support our students and staff in delivering high-quality practical lessons. The successful candidate will assist in preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth running of both the Art and DT departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation of materials, tools, and equipment for art and design technology lessons
- Supporting teachers in practical lessons and demonstrations
- Ensuring all equipment is safe, well-maintained, and stored properly
- Managing stock levels and ordering supplies when necessary
- Providing technical support to students during lessons, helping with their projects and designs
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the workshops and studios
- Assisting with displays of students' artwork and DT projects
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Art or DT Technician or in a similar role is desirable
- Knowledge of working with tools, materials, and equipment in both art and design technology settings
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teaching staff
- Strong communication skills and a positive, supportive attitude
- Commitment to health and safety regulations in the workshop and classroom
