AJ Chambers are thrilled to share a fantastic opportunity with a Top 40 Chartered Accountancy firm that's on the lookout for a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant to join their Accounts Team in Peterborough.

One of the standout features of this position is its flexibility. With an almost entirely remote working model, you can work from the comfort of your home, only needing to attend on-site client meetings or internal sessions when required.

The Team:

The accounts team offers a variety of accounting services, including bookkeeping, year-end account preparation, and tax return filing. They prioritise building strong relationships and serve as trusted advisors to a diverse clientele, predominantly owner-managed businesses. This allows you the chance to work closely with key decision-makers and significantly influence the direction of their companies. Within their Peterborough-based team, you will be tasked with preparing year-end accounts and tax computations for clients whose turnovers typically reach up to £2 million.

The role:

  • Handling moderate to large accounts preparation assignments, including related tax computations.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and VAT returns when necessary.
  • Reviewing the work of team members, as well as your own, before submission to the job manager.
  • Proactively resolving client queries with minimal managerial input.
  • Training and mentoring junior colleagues.

Requirements:

  • AAT part/fully qualified or ACA/ACCA part qualified
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a reputable UK based accounting firm.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to upholding professional ethics and integrity in all aspects of work.
