We are looking to recruit an experienced finance professional with fantastic management skills to join our established team. Reporting to our Director of Finance our Head of Finance will provide overall responsibility for the day-to-day activities of the Group's finance team.

About the role

The executive team and Board have just launched MSV's new 3-year corporate plan, which has a renewed focus on strengthening our core business and continuing to deliver value for money. This means we want to increase resources in the finance function, particularly supporting the customer service functions, to continue to drive value for money in all areas of operation.

This opportunity couldn't arrive at a more exciting time, the role will be at the forefront of transforming the finance systems and services it provides to the business over the next 2 years.

This role will form a pivotal part of the organisation's management team, having the opportunity to develop and influence the focus on value for money across all its activities.

In collaboration with the Director of Finance, you will ensure the Group's longer term financial viability is maintained through the delivery of robust annual budgets and 30-year financial plan, ensuring the Group is operating in line with funder loan covenants and any golden rules as prescribed by the Board.

In addition, you will manage and motivate the finance team to deliver excellent customer services standards in financial management, reporting and business partnering, treasury, financial planning and cashflow forecasting, rent and service charge setting, maximising the use of MSV financial systems and processes to drive efficiency and automation.

What we are looking for;

  • A qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA)
  • A proven track record in a senior leadership management role delivering all aspects of finance management in a complex organisation.
  • Experience of operating within a regulated sector, such as social housing.
  • Experience of budget setting, management and performance reporting.
  • Experience of managing a high performing team to deliver the corporate objectives of the organisation.
  • Experience of delivering financial support through a business partnering approach.
  • Experience of external and internal stakeholder management adapting to different audiences.
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced use of Excel, knowledge and use of finance and feeder systems, relevant processes, dependencies, and interfaces.
  • Ability to analyse complex data to produce reports and deliver information to a range of audiences.
