We are delighted to represent an emerging client in Sussex who is seeking an HR Manager to join their vibrant team on a temporary fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for a dynamic HR professional who is adept at managing multiple HR functions and leading a team to achieve strategic objectives.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and manage the HR team to support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
- Provide counsel and support on policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with current laws.
- Oversee the recruitment process, including job descriptions, postings, interviews, and hiring decisions.
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organisation.
- Nurture a positive working environment by ensuring employee relations are managed appropriately.
- Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement, and redundancy.
- Advise management on the administration of human resources policies and procedures.
- Serve as the point of contact for employment relations and communicate with labour unions.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organisation at hearings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HR Manager or other HR executive.
- Deep knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development, etc.).
- Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus.
- Outstanding organisational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
- Strong ethics and reliability.
- BSc/BA in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field; MSc/MA in Human Resources will be a plus.
