We are currently recruiting a Domestic Abuse Advisor on behalf of a well-established housing association in the Northwest. This is an ongoing, temporary position which will be looking to be made permanent in the new year and will have the opportunity to apply for.
This is a home-working role, but you are welcome to work from the Head Office at any time, and will be working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Your new role
- You will be triaging inbound calls from customers living in our clients' properties, who are currently experiencing Domestic Abuse and will be carrying out relevant risk assessments & making safeguarding referrals.
- Work alongside specialist internal colleagues and other external agencies/key stakeholders to ensure the safety & wellbeing of customers is upheld at all times.
- You will attend and participate in MARAC meetings in relation to cases where appropriate
- Providing advice and guidance, and signposting to external services where appropriate
- Ensuring thorough, accurate and detailed notes are taken in each case and recorded on relevant systems
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience of supporting victim survivors through Domestic Abuse
- Understanding and experience of completing DASH Risk Assessments, making safeguarding referrals and attending MARAC meetings
- Sensitivity, empathy and personal resilience, with the ability to handle distressing & upsetting calls
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and best practice in relation to safeguarding and domestic violence
