Offering a competitive salary of up to £45,000 plus benefits (DOE), this newly created role gives you the chance to take full ownership of health and safety across all three of the club's sites. You'll play a key role in building strong foundations with the wider safety teams and ensuring the safety of thousands of fans, staff, and visitors during high-profile events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain robust health and safety policies, processes, and systems to support all departments.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety queries from employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Compile, review, and manage all health and safety documentation, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, and COSHH.
  • Stay up to date with HSE legislation and industry trends to ensure the club remains compliant and at the forefront of best practices.
  • Analyse H&S data to generate reports and implement strategies to create a safer environment for all.
  • Record and investigate incidents and accidents, using the findings to reduce future risks.
  • Collaborate with HR to deliver and maintain comprehensive H&S training programs for all staff and volunteers.
  • Lead health and safety audits, including those for the boys' and girls' academies, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that policies and procedures are being correctly implemented.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Club's Health and Safety Policies during large-scale events, focusing on crowd safety and incident prevention.
  • Communicate positive H&S performance to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and engagement.
  • Bring innovative ideas to the table while maintaining exceptional health and safety standards.
  • Support HR with occupational health issues and risk assessments, including those related to pregnancy.
  • Promote equality and diversity within the workplace, helping to create an inclusive culture for all.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • Proven experience in managing health and safety for large, multi-site operations.
  • Extensive experience in crowd safety management and overseeing large-scale events.
  • Strong understanding of data protection legislation and relevant H&S systems.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
