An ICT Support Engineer Urgently Required

Location: Surrey, UK
Salary: £27,775 - £30,477 per annum
Working Pattern: Full-Time, 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent

Your Role: As the ICT Support Engineer, you'll be at the heart of the technology operations, ensuring that all ICT systems run smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Support: Provide first and second-line ITC support for users via email, phone, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Infrastructure Management: Assist with server support under the guidance of our centralised Infrastructure Team, and carry out routine maintenance tasks.
  • Install and upgrade hardware & software
  • Proactive Maintenance: Regularly check and maintain ICT equipment in classrooms and IT rooms, ensuring everything is in good working order and meets health and safety standards.
  • Project Involvement: Contribute to department projects and change programmes, helping to implement new technologies and improve existing systems.
  • User Support: Create, update, and manage user accounts and provide enhanced support during exam periods.

What We're Looking For: To be successful in this role, an ICT Support Engineer should have:

  • A thorough knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, common user applications, and end-user devices (PCs, iPads, tablets, mobile phones, etc).
  • Basic understanding of networking, servers, and virtual servers.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • A professional attitude, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and understanding of Data Protection in the context of ICT systems

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A good education to A Level, diploma, or degree level is desirable.
  • A full driving licence
  • Willingness to learn new skills and engage in ongoing professional development.
