Location: Agile working (Home / CHQ, Eyre Street Sheffield)

Hours: Part Time Job Share, 18.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Work Pattern: Mon - Weds (Flexi Time) 7.4 hours Mon - Tues, 3.7 hours Weds

Salary: Grade 5 (£27,711 - £30,060 pro rata) Actual part time equivalent £13,856 - £15,030

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time People Officer on a job share basis within this Fire Service's Recruitment team. The Recruitment team is an integral part of the People function which is positioned at the heart of transformation and delivering a culture that encourages flexibility, learning and empowerment.

Based at the Service's Headquarters and supervising a team of two People Administrators you will support the People Services Team Leader in the provision of a high quality, effective and efficient customer-focused recruitment transaction service for all employees and stakeholders.

With an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent, you will have a good understanding of people processes, particularly in relation to recruitment and selection and proven experience of applying administration procedures and systems to provide a quality service.

Your style and approach will reflect the Service's values and aspirations, acting with honesty, integrity and respect. New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis. The organisation offers 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years' service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days plus bank holidays in addition to this.

Most of the Service's corporate roles offer flexi time and agile working, meaning people can vary their hours to suit their commitments outside of work as agreed with their line manager. Flexi time can be accrued with a potential of up to 13 days to be taken within a year.

All eligible corporate staff are auto enrolled onto the Local Government Pension Scheme with contributions ranging from 5.5% to 12.5%. It is a defined benefit pension scheme that means pensions are based on salary and the length of paying into the scheme.
