An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Administrator to join a leading textile innovator based in Bradford. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the global movement of goods via Sea, Air, and Road, following significant growth in the shipping department.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Confirming and processing of overseas sales and purchase orders
  • Obtain quotations for the overseas movement of goods
  • Liaising with forwarders, shipping agents, suppliers and customers; to arrange shipments, both from UK and Overseas
  • Arranging the booking-in of both export and import goods with the warehouse
  • Advising shipping agents of details of the cargo for customs and quotation purposes
  • Obtaining quotations and schedules for freight forwarder partners
  • Working closing with the purchasing department to ensure goods are received OTIF
  • Checking official documents raised by shipping agents (e.g. Bills of Lading)
  • Preparing export documentation (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, CRM's and other commercial documents)
  • Checking export documents before presentation to banks / clients
  • Presenting import documents to clearing agents to arrange clearance of import cargo
  • Liaising with customers regarding current and future shipments
  • Dealing with suppliers in UK and overseas to arrange cargo for shipment
  • Arranging couriers for documents and sample goods
  • Collating and filing of documents within the shipping office and accounts office
  • Spreadsheet management – updating internal documents
  • Weighing-in of both export and import vehicles on a weighbridge
  • Any other duties relevant to the department

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience working in Shipping Import / Export
  • Excellent communication skills Some knowledge and experience with supplier management would be beneficial
  • Experience of Sage line 500 desired but not essential
  • Confident computer skills and proficient with Microsoft programmes, to include Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint and Word
  • Some knowledge and experience with supplier management would be beneficial
  • Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
