Nigel Wright are pleased to be working with a food manufacturing business as they look to hire a Manufacturing Improvement Manager. This is a newly created role, and will work closely with the Head of Manufacturing to drive improvements across the site.

The role

The Manufacturing & Improvement Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a blend of operational management and process improvement expertise, ensuring that manufacturing processes are optimised and aligned with business objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Manager who takes job satisfaction in developing their team and ensuring a mindset of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manufacturing Operations Management - ensuring high standards of quality and safety are achieved, whilst hitting production targets
  • Implementing corrective actions to address and mitigate risks to production
  • Leading various continuous improvement projects what will enhance processes, improve quality and reduce waste
  • Applying CI methodologies to identify and implement best practice
  • Engage employees in the CI agenda to create a mindset of continuous improvement being the norm.
  • Take a lead in projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget, tracking and resolving issues, and engaging relevant stakeholders on progress.
  • Working cross functionally, to ensure manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and regulations
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of shift managers to create an environment where high performance becomes the norm

Requirements

We are looking for a Manufacturing Improvement Manager who has experience working at a Management level, within an environment that already has established CI/Lean processes. Demonstrating a natural ability to work with, engage and influence across different functions. Ideally working within a Food, FMCG or packaging organisation.
