Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Specialist SEN Tutor to join our team. As a SEN Tutor, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, developmental delays, and disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Develop individualised learning plans and strategies based on student's needs and goals
- Assess student's strengths and weaknesses to identify areas for improvement
- Deliver engaging and interactive tutoring sessions that accommodate different learning styles
- Use appropriate teaching techniques and resources to support student's learning
- Adapt and modify teaching materials to suit student's abilities and interests
- Monitor and track student's progress and provide regular feedback to parents/guardians
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to student support
- Implement behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in SEN education
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Must be a qualified Teacher
- Proven experience working with students with special educational needs
- In-depth knowledge of various SEN conditions and appropriate teaching strategies
- Familiarity with the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with SEN
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
