Our client designs and manufactures products and components, mostly from plastics, for the play and leisure industries and are seeking a Product Design Engineer to value engineer existing ranges and progress customer designs through to production. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment, where product development is central to the company's continuing success.
Key Responsibilities include:
- New Product Development, Product Updates and Bespoke Customer Designs
- 3D modelling, 2D technical drawings, instructions, BoM creation and product data management
- Prototyping and Testing
- Project Management and Problem Solving
- Ensuring all products are designed and inspected to the relevant European and US standards
- Communicating information on new products and updates to other departments ensuring smooth implementation
Skills and Experience needed for the Product Design Engineer:
- Minimum of 2 years' proven ability as a design engineer including technical design and problem solving
- Previous individual and team working experience
- Fluent in 2D and 3D CAD (Solid Edge / SolidWorks)
- Good communication skills and commercial awareness
- Knowledge of plastic and other materials for manufacturing
In return there is a starting salary from £27,500 per annum (negotiable depending on experience) and 24 days' holidays plus bank holidays
