Interim Accountant (12 months)
East London (Hybrid)
Our client is a FTSE listed firm who are seeking to recruit a qualified accountant for a 12-month maternity cover. There is a strong possibility of a permanent role after the initial fixed term period.
Working in a large team, your role will cover:
- Ownership of the month end process for one of the divisions within the group. This will include the consolidation of accounts, preparation of key variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and closure of the divisional ledger each month.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts and ad-hoc management information requests.
- Review outputs from junior members of the team (month end / banking journals, JV/JC Funding requests, debtor analysis etc.). Coach and mentor junior members of the team.
- Support the HY and FY external reporting requirements, building good working relationships with Group Finance and the External Auditors.
- Assist in the Half-Year and Full-Year audit.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Support the Divisional FC in maintaining a strong financial control environment and providing technical accounting support and challenge.
- Ad-hoc project work.
Your background
- Available to start at short notice
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA/ACMA)
- Good understanding of IFRS preferred
- Strong academics
- Good with systems, in particular MS Excel
