Service Manager

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to lead a Mental Health Service in Shrewsbury. The service provides crucial step-down support from mental health rehabilitation to offering housing-related supported accommodation to customers. The service focuses on helping customers develop the skills and resources necessary to live independently, manage and sustain a tenancy, and prepare for a transition to independent living.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring a professional atmosphere and the highest standards of care and support.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the service, adhering to policies, procedures, standards, and protocols.
  • Represent the service and organization at local and wider meetings, liaising with internal and external agencies to optimize care and support progression.
  • Manage complaints from customers, relatives, stakeholders, and others effectively.
  • Coordinate all aspects of service delivery, ensuring the general well-being of customers.
  • Collaborate with relevant management teams to achieve the organisation's businessobjectives and contribute to future growth strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for customers, staffing, financials, and other service-related areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations, and continuously improve health and safety measures for customers, stakeholders, and staff.
  • Complete monitoring and regulatory returns, adhering to policies, LA and CCG contract standards, and principles of Quality and Continuous Improvement.
  • Deliver care and support in accordance with NSF and NICE guidelines and evidence-based practices.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to meet the needs of the service.

About You:

  • Experience in a mental health setting, including crisis intervention and prevention.
  • Proven experience in managing, supporting, and motivating a staff team.
  • Skilled in budget preparation and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with other agencies and build positive relationships with key stakeholders and regulators.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience in reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating care and support delivery.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team to deliver outcomes for customers.
  • Excellent workload and priority management skills.
