Project Management Accountant

  • This role will report to the Financial Controller.• 40 hours per week, • The hours for the role will be Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm per week. • The role will be based at our UK head office in Hayes, Middlesex. • Hybrid working: 4 days in office and Friday work from home

1. Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience/Profile

  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continual improvement
  • Able to take initiative and perform under pressure and deadline
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and multitasking
  • Previous experience in a similar role, project management and deliver process improvement
  • Liaise and communicate with various department to identify and improve process inefficiencies
  • Previous experience in AR and AP and understand basic principle and workflow
  • Technically strong qualified or finalist, studying towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA. Preferred but not essential
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to analysis of large volumes of data
  • Power BI, Dynamic 365/AX and Basware knowledge is a plus but not a must

1. Purpose of the role

  • We are aiming to optimize and automate internal finance process. This role will be identifying process inefficiencies and make improvement. With ERP/IT team support, delivery projects that can automate manual processes within Account Receivable and Account Payable function
  • Support statutory audit process with external and internal auditors
  • Assist accurate and timely monthly and year end close and financial reporting

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead new projects within the finance team, including o Work with Accounts Payable team to troubleshoot and understand internal processes to improve supplier aging, purchase orders, goods in transit and any other ad-hoc tasks o Work with Accounts Receivable team to troubleshoot and understand internal processes to improve customer aging, customer returns and any other ad-hoc tasks• Main support to management accountant with internal and external audit, prepare ETB and statutory accounts (usually between March to June each year)
  • Month end: o Assist Management accountant and Financial controller with month-end close process and assist with preparing monthly management accounts, and provide insightful explanations of material deviations from actuals, forecasts, budget and historical trendso Assist with filing the monthly management accounts to US on OneStream o Preparation and ownership of monthly lease journals and lease reconciliations o Update monthly Accruals and prepayments file o Preparation of monthly customer rebates and incentive and reconciliation • Manage VAT and HMRC reporting
