Your new role
You will undertake a mixture of accounting and credit control duties;
- Maintain the accounts receivable ledger.
- Daily allocation of receipts against customer accounts from customer remittances, receipts received on the bank statement and credit card receipts.
- Resolving invoice queries minimising overdue balances on accounts.
- Maintaining and reconciling accounts where customers have a self-billing arrangement.
- Maintaining and reconciling pro-forma accounts.
- Reconciling intercompany accounts.
- Raising financial credit notes
- Creating a monthly receipts forecast by week based on the month end aged debtors report and forecast sales by customer.
- Updating the receipts forecast on a weekly basis for actual amounts received and actual ledger balances.
- Chasing overdue debts
- Reviewing customer credit limits and checking Experian reports.
- Reporting UK Daily Sales
- Posting direct debit payments, lease invoices and reconciling daily bank statements
- Petty cash (GBP and currency) reconciliation and monthly journals
What you'll need to succeed
You must have credit control experience and be happy to grow into a broader accounting role. A desire to complete your AAT qualification would be a bonus.
