Job Title: Lead English Teacher
Location: Leyland, Near Preston
Salary: M1 - UPS2 - £30,000 - £44,870 dependant on experience plus Expert payment of £1,500 per annum in addition to current salary
Hours: 40 hours per week
We're currently looking for an experienced English Teacher to take on the position as English Lead at a specialist school in Leyland, Nr. Preston which provides academic and therapeutic support in a welcoming environment for students aged 9-16 who face challenges associated with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Lead Teacher - English, Literacy, Phonics & Careers Education Information, Advice & Guidance (CEIAG)
The role:
To deliver high quality teaching and learning to young people with range of complex needs associated with SEMH. Students may also be on the autistic spectrum and have mental health and anxiety related conditions. As English Lead you will be the lead teacher for English, Literacy and PSHE focus.
Experience /Qualifications:
- PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
- Experience in either Primary or Secondary settings
- Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD and ASD
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
- Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
