Managing Director

As a Managing Director you'll be someone that can make it happen. Be able to lead and

manage on a day to day basis. The creator of systems and processes, confident in reporting to the founder on what they need to know, and what they don't know. A fire-fighting with the ability to prevent fires wherever possible to move the business forward constructively, profitably and effectively. An understanding that everyone is different, with the ability to recognise this and manage successfully in various styles accordingly.

You'll be the champion of the company culture.

You'll be given a war plan by the founder and it's your responsibility to come up with the

attles to fight to win the war.

Managing Director Job Purpose:

Oversee the activities of the company. Responsible for the management of that entity's

resources as well as the establishment of strategic goals and formulating any plans to

ensure those goals are met. In the majority of cases, you'll have the last say in all day to day Operations.

Managing Director Job Duties:

  • Directs and supervises the activities of staff
  • Provide guidance for workers as required and approve training opportunities
  • Implement company policies
  • Delegate duties among staff members
  • Maintain budgets for managed entities, as well as individual projects taken on
  • Monitor costs against budget
  • Make key decisions for managed entities
  • Research and analyse industry, market and competitors to make informed strategy decisions
  • Create initiatives to take advantage of market opportunities, reduce operational threats, forestall business risks and maximise core strengths
  • Identify core competencies and define operational goals
  • Liaise consistently with the founder to make sure all efforts are in Alignment

Strategic Leadership:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Ensure alignment of team objectives with the company's strategic goals.

Financial Oversight:

  • Develop and manage the company's budget and financial planning.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and reporting systems are in place.

Marketing and Sales Oversight:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the company's services.
  • Oversee the sales team to drive business growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Oversee the hiring process, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates.
  • Foster a positive onboarding experience for new employees.

Stakeholder Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients,

partners, suppliers, and the community.

  • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and events.
  • Communicate effectively with the Founder, providing regular updates on company

performance and strategic initiatives.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Implement risk management strategies to safeguard the company's assets and
  • Maintain high standards of corporate governance and ethical business practices.

Managing Director Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (MBA

construction, property management, or damp proofing industry.
