Finance Business Partner, £60,000, South East London and Hybrid

A large and leading research university based in London are looking for a qualified accountant to step into a key Business Partner position in the organisation. The role holder will have a business partnering mindset, exemplifying excellent service delivery and being uncompromising on quality. You will be responsible for communicating and working with your Senior Finance Business Partner to help your directorate understand their budgets, produce accurate forecasts, and provide useful management information. This is an exciting role for a candidate looking to get into a more commercial and forward-looking finance position.

Your Role

  • Provide accurate and reliable in year finance actuals to relevant faculties and directorates
  • Work with the faculties and directorates to create 5-year financial plan and provide quarterly financial forecasts
  • Ensure all capital expenditure, cost and revenue lines are well understood and controlled
  • Input budget & forecast into finance system
  • Act as the Finance representative at key senior leadership meetings for their Directorate. Own the relationship with the Directorate on behalf of Finance.
  • Ensure budgets and financial plans are adhered to
  • Work collaboratively with Directorate to lead on developing cost saving and revenue optimisation initiatives
  • Develop business cases/investment appraisals, working with a range of non-finance stakeholders

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Ideally you will have experience in Higher Education
  • Solid financial understanding and good mathematical skills
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to manage large data sets and present information coherently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and non-finance stakeholder management
  • Proactive, personable and engaged
