Finance Assistant - Sleaford/Hybrid - £25k-£29k
Benjamin Edwards are recruiting exclusively for a Finance Assistant for an award-winning organisation in Sleaford. The Finance Assistant will report to the Head of Finance. You will have responsibility for ensuring timely and accurate completion of banking/finance activities. There is the option to work from home one day a week.
The role of the Finance Assistant
- Carry out daily bank reconciliations for multiple sites
- Preparation of accurate short-term cashflow forecasts weekly
- Ensure debtors reconcile, and customer accounts are allocated correctly
- Generate payment runs for approval of Head of Finance when required
- Gatekeeper in ensuring there are no direct postings to the nominal, as all transactions should be supported with an invoice (unless agreed with Head of Finance)
- Assist in audit responses in relation to queries for areas of responsibility
- Process development and improvement projects impacting treasury activities
- Support payroll activities
- Support purchase ledger with posting, ordering and inbox management if required
- Assisting with day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable
- Providing administrative support to the finance team
- Other duties and ad hoc reporting/analysis tasks as required
The ideal candidate for the role of Finance Assistant
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Excel
- Experience of Xero desirable
- Team player with a can-do attitude
