Summary of Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the early stages of their sales career, looking for growth and development within the UK's energy market. Your role will be crucial in supporting customers to achieve the UK's net zero targets. You will be responsible for developing new relationships in adjacent markets that complement the company's core offerings, including 24/7 reactive and proactive support, industrial cybersecurity, and digital transformation solutions.

Role Description:

  • Drive business development within your market segment, achieving agreed sales targets for new customers and new business, as well as organic growth.
  • Represent the company in your business area, developing and owning specific customer relationships, and enhancing the company's reputation.
  • Develop a growth strategy for your market segment, identifying available industry streams, market segments, and customers.
  • Collaborate with the sales manager to develop a detailed sales plan for your market sector, providing business leaders with the necessary information to make informed decisions.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven track record of creating and growing sales, either directly or indirectly.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with a commitment to outstanding customer service and a high-performance culture.
  • Understanding of industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of business development performance drivers, and a broad understanding of automation control systems.
  • Ability to develop and execute a growth strategy and sales plan in complex industries and market segments.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external customers and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to deliver formal reports and presentations both internally and externally.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Understanding of internal networks and politics within the business and marketplace, with evidence of leveraging this knowledge to navigate complexity.
  • Sales and/or technical experience within the UK Critical National Infrastructure Sector.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop effective relationships at all levels.
  • Experience and understanding of the company's capabilities, markets, and service offerings.
  • Good understanding of digital and cybersecurity within an industrial setting.
