Geotechnical Project Manager / Project Engineer - Required for our client out their Cheltenham office with potential for remote working, and visits to sites as required as part of the role. The Project Manager / Project Engineer will be working for a well-known UK wide Civil Engineering Contractor within their retaining walls department. The Project Manager / Project Engineer will be involved in projects that range from a £50k retaining wall on a housing development, to multiple structures installed on large £2mill highways contracts.

**Geotechnical Project Manager / Project Engineer Position Overview

  • Upon the award of a contract you will liaise with clients and site teams to deliver contracts effectively
  • To successfully manage contracts focusing on safety, customer service, quality and productivity
  • To ensure that contracts perform in line with budget and to maintain a motivated, effective and safety conscious workforce
  • Ensure safe working practice of site operations
  • Implement procedures to prevent site and safety hazards
  • Co-ordinate and produce interim and/or final applications for payment for all works in accordance with contractual deadlines
  • Maximise cash flow and ensure timely resolution of claims and final accounts whilst ensuring site costs are managed effectively

**Geotechnical Project Manager / Project Engineer Position Requirements

  • Minimum - HNC/Bachelors in a Geology or Civil Engineering related discipline
  • Incorporated Engineer or working towards Professional Membership
  • Proven experience in a Project Manager role or a Geotechnical engineer
  • SMSTS
  • Experience of managing small to medium teams
  • Experience of working in a civil engineering, building or geotechnical environment
  • Attention to detail and able to work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to talk to all levels of employees
  • Commercially astute and ability to negotiate claim
  • Understanding of NEC 3/4 contracts and JCT
