Customer Service Advisor - Collections team - Temp to Perm

We are seeking Collections Advisors to join our client, a leading utilities company that put the customer at the heart of all they do.

You will be providing exceptional support to customers experiencing account arrears. This role is pivotal in understanding and addressing the needs of the customers, offering tailored solutions and guidance, including signposting to assistance programmes. While the role presents challenges, it offers the rewarding opportunity to make a significant positive impact on the customers' circumstances.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Engage with customers to provide advice and support regarding their accounts.
  • Listen empathetically to understand individual customer situations.
  • Offer solutions and assistance, potentially including enrolment in priority services.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to enhance customer support strategies.
  • Adapt to a range of customer interactions, including managing difficult conversations.
  • Commit to a full training programme, including 3 weeks of classroom-based learning and a subsequent mentoring period.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • No specific experience in contact centres or customer care is required.
  • Backgrounds in customer service, healthcare, teaching assistance, debt recovery, or similar roles are highly valued.
  • Experience in managing challenging conversations and supporting vulnerable individuals is advantageous.
  • A willingness to learn and engage with a comprehensive training package.
  • Flexibility to work 37 hours per week, including shifts on weekends and bank holidays. (hours range from 8am to 8pm M-F and 8am to 4pm on Saturday.
