About the Role
As an Accountant, you will work closely with the Head of Finance to support the Executive Management Team (EMT) and Principals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in strategic financial planning, including operational budgets and five-year forecasts
- Oversee revenue recognition and management of pupil fees and additional income streams
- Lead on Value-Added Tax (VAT) management, ensuring compliance and optimising systems
- Provide financial governance, reporting, and support for capital and maintenance projects
- Ensure financial compliance with audit and risk management procedures
- Contribute to continuous process improvements and better decision-making

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented accountant who is passionate about education and finance.
- Qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA) with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience
- Expertise in VAT management and compliance
- Strong financial reporting and budgeting skills
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance colleagues
- Commitment to working in the independent school sector
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a focus on customer service
