We are seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to provide comprehensive financial support within our school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate recording and reporting of the school's financial functions and supporting colleagues with financial issues, while meeting all necessary deadlines.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Utilise SIMS FMS6 for maintaining the bank account, processing orders, and ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Reconcile the delegated budget bank account and manage petty cash effectively.
  • Research and negotiate with suppliers to ensure "best value" goods and services.
  • Handle enquiries about orders, payments, and deliveries from staff and suppliers.
  • Provide monthly reports on financial activities and maintain office stationary stock levels.
  • Use QuickBooks for managing extra-curricular school trips, ensuring payments are made and recorded accurately.
  • Collect, count, and bank money for various activities, ensuring records are reconciled with the overall Private Account balance.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing records, assisting with ParentPay administration, and emptying pay telephones.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial administration, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in using financial management systems such as SIMS FMS6 and QuickBooks.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to research cost-effective solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in handling petty cash and banking procedures.
