WE Talent are working with a successful family run business based on the outskirts of Colchester who are recruiting for a Credit Controller to join their team.
The company is expanding and looking for someone to join their experienced finance team on a permanent basis. They boast modern premises and a friendly atmosphere within their open plan office.
This role is working closely with the company's extensive client base, ensuring smooth finance processes and excellent customer service. This is a full time office based post, working 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Processing credit application forms and checking credit report for customers, notifying the sales team if the account has been approved or declined
- Processing direct debit forms
- Setting up new customers on internal systems and also setting the customer up on their online portal for invoicing
- Ensuring account information across systems match
- Issuing chase letters
- Calling customers to update them if accounts need to be put on hold, placing overdue accounts on stop
- Issuing 7 day letters
- Negotiating payment plans and setting up terms and conditions
- Starting legal proceedings if customers do not pay debt on time
- Pre month end direct debit checks
- Processing month end direct debit run for import to the bank
- Running end of day reports for management
- Reconciling and posting the daily cash sheet
- Raising authorised credit notes
Requirements
- Previous Credit Control experience (Essential)
- Experience working with Sage Line 50 (desirable)
- Excellent customer service both written and verbal
- Able to work to tight deadlines
- Able to work across multiple accounts
- Must be a driver due to location
- Must be able to work full time in the office
