FPGA Design Engineer with DSP Skills - Advanced Surveillance Systems. Exciting growth has led to a requirement for a FPGA Design Engineer to join a market leader in the development of advanced radar and surveillance equipment. The FPGA Design Engineer will bring experience of implementing signal processing algorithms as well as experience using Xilinx design tools. Hybrid / Remote with 10% of time needed in office.

Of particular interest is knowledge of radar, sonar or similar sensor systems and an understanding of radar signal processing techniques.

The successful individual will be the sole FPGA Design engineer working on DSP system design and architecture; designing and verifying FPGA code (VHDL or Verilog) using Xilinx design tools as well as designing software for test and verification.

Skills required for the FPGA Design Engineer include:

  • A Technical Degree or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Commercial FPGA development using Xilinx design tools such as Vivado.
  • Implementing signal processing algorithms with High-Speed I/O in FPGA.
  • Appreciation of High-Speed digital circuits for real time applications.
  • Design verification by both simulation and hardware testing.
  • Some software design using C/C++, Python or similar.
  • Confidence to work well independently without supervision.

As a key member of a highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be the sole FPGA Engineer taking full responsibility for digital signal processing. Hybrid/remote working is on offer with around one day needed in office per week or 10% annually. Flexibility is there to fit with the ideal candidate.
