About the Role
Heath Electrical Services is looking for a talented and qualified Domestic Gas Engineer to provide exceptional heating services to our residential clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of heating systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet industry standards. The Domestic Gas Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers' heating needs are met while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair domestic heating systems, including boilers, radiators, thermostats, and other related components.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of heating systems to identify any faults, malfunctions, or potential issues.
- Diagnose heating system problems and determine the most suitable repair methods, providing accurate cost estimates to clients.
- Carry out necessary repairs, replacements, or installations of heating system components, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting heating systems to optimize their performance and prevent potential breakdowns.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their heating requirements, provide expert advice, and recommend appropriate heating solutions.
- Keep accurate records of all work performed, including repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, regulations, and best practices in domestic heating systems.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Gas Utilisation Installation and Maintenance is preferred but not mandatory.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation (Domestic Installation): This is a standard qualification for heating engineers in the UK, proving the holder has both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the area.
- Gas Safe Registered: If the role involves working with gas installations, being Gas Safe registered is a legal requirement in the UK.
- Proven experience as a Domestic Heating Engineer, preferably with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Strong knowledge of various types of heating systems, including boilers, radiators, thermostats, and controls.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing heating system faults, with a solid understanding of heating system components and their functions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex heating system issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workload and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Full UK driving license and the ability to travel to client locations as required.
