We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in an accounts environment and possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Ensure sales invoices are raised correctly and on time.
  • Follow up on invoices in query to resolve them promptly.
  • Raise credit notes as requested.
  • Remove cancelled orders from the system weekly.
  • Maintain the Accounts inbox, dealing with or assigning queries daily.
  • Ensure compliance with group rules on financial controls.
  • Assist with daily reconciliation of cash book and bank accounts.
  • Assist with checks and controls over all outgoing payments and sales refunds.
  • Assist with data entry of purchase ledger, including validation of invoices, reconciliation of supplier statements, and scheduling supplier payments.
  • Process company-wide credit card expenditure, ensuring all receipts are collected.
  • Maintain accounts payable and receivable records and keep filing up to date.
  • Assist with booking hotels for engineers as required.
  • Provide support and cover for other areas within the finance department as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years' experience working in an accounts environment.
  • Knowledge of Access Dimensions (advantageous but not essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ideally have or working towards AAT level 2.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop robust working relationships.
  • Strong team player.
