Finance Manager

Citadel Source are delighted are proud to be partnering with a charitable organisation based in Bristol, to recruit a Finance Manager on a 12 month FTC starting late September/early October. This role is available on a fully remote basis, but you must be based in the UK.

About you

This role will suit someone who has experience running day to day transactional Finance within an SME, including payroll, running month end and dealing directly with budget holders.

The role

In this role, you will play an integral part in providing an effective, high-quality Finance function, reporting directly into the Finance Director. You will provide a broad range of transactional and administrative tasks, including Payroll, managing payables and receivables, banking and any other financial requirements. There will be opportunities for you to get involved with improvement projects around areas like payroll and expenses, along with running the budgets meetings.

As the Finance Manager, your role will include but not be limited to:

  • Ownership of purchase ledger/payables, payroll and month end, including oversight and supervision of Finance support staff.
  • Obtain appropriate authorisation for invoices prior to processing.
  • Liaise with operational and other staff on entries where required (e.g., receipt of housing benefit).
  • Reconcile the bank account.
  • Overseeing cash flow and transfer of funds as required, providing management with regular cash flow statements.
  • Calculation of payments due to staff in line with current legislation and recovery of any overpayments.
  • Check and review monthly payroll output with the Finance Director and obtain approval for payment.
  • Create, reconcile and post the monthly payroll costing journal.
  • Deal promptly and effectively with all payroll related staff queries and maintain the payroll filing system.
  • Receive petty cash returns from each project site and process in the finance system.
  • Liaise with our bank regarding issue of debit cards and related matters.
  • Maintain and report on the sales ledger.
  • Manage credit control and pursue payment where required.

Requirements

  • Qualified by experience.
  • Experience owning month end, payroll, purchase ledger and other areas of transactional Finance.
  • Experience managing a small team
