Harper May is partnering with a leading and highly respected construction firm, renowned for their excellence in the industry. They are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Bookkeeper to join their expanding team.
About the Role:
In this key role, you will ensure the smooth operation of financial processes and maintain the integrity of the company's financial records. As a Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include managing daily transactions, reconciling accounts, and producing detailed financial reports to support the company's growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain precise financial records using accounting software.
- Accurately record and categorise daily financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes with diligence.
- Analyse financial data to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Place orders with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and receipt of goods.
- Manage supplier pricing and collaborate with the estimating department to optimise costs.
- Perform general administrative tasks and support order processing as needed.
Requirements:
- AAT qualification or equivalent certification in accounting, or qualified by experience.
- Proven track record as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Competent using MS Outlook, Word and Excel
- Competent using Xero
- Experience of Iris and Sage software packages would be preferable
- Deep understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
